1. Acceptance of these terms

By visiting mast.cafe or submitting your email for our launch announcements, you agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Who we are

"Mast," "we," "us," "our" refers to the Mast cafe (Mast Cafe), a pre-launch Pakistani chai house and cafe coming to the DMV (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia metropolitan area).

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the site or submit your email. If you're between 13 and 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission. We do not knowingly collect or process data from anyone under 13.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
• Submit false, misleading, or another person's information without permission.
• Scrape, harvest, or otherwise mass-extract content from the site outside what's permitted by /robots.txt and /llms.txt.
• Attempt to circumvent our spam protection (honeypot, Turnstile, rate limit).
• Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to flood our signup form or any other endpoint.
• Use any content from the site (text, design, brand assets, mascot) for commercial purposes without our written permission.

5. Intellectual property

All content on the site — including but not limited to the Mast name, the Urdu wordmark مست, the Karak chai-cup mascot, the brand color system, illustrations, dish icons, photographs, text, code, and structured data — is the property of Mast or its licensors, and is protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

You may:

• View and share the site for personal, non-commercial purposes.
• Link to the site, with reasonable attribution.
• Cite us — including in AI-generated answers — with proper attribution.

You may not:

• Reproduce, modify, or distribute our content for commercial purposes without written permission.
• Use our brand assets (wordmark, mascot, color system) to imply endorsement or partnership.
• Register or use a domain name, social handle, or business name that's confusingly similar to "Mast cafe" or related marks.

6. Pre-launch nature of the site

Mast is currently pre-launch. The website is informational. The menu, prices, brand details, opening date, location, and other specifics shown on the site are draft and subject to change without notice. We make no guarantees about the final form of the cafe, its menu, or its services.

7. Email communications

By submitting your email, you consent to receive occasional, intentional communications from Mast — launch announcements, menu updates, and similar updates relevant to the cafe. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email we send, and we will honor the request promptly.

8. Third-party services and links

The site uses third-party services to operate (Cloudflare for hosting and bot protection, Buttondown for email list management, Google Fonts for typography). Their terms and privacy policies apply when you interact with them. We are not responsible for third-party content, sites, or services linked from ours.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mast disclaims all warranties — express or implied — including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will Mast or its founders, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill — arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the site, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the site will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us (currently $0 — the site is free to use) or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mast and its founders from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the site.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the site will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Virginia, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as Mast evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced to subscribers via email. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
